Johnson made an even stronger statement in a one-one-one interview with ESPN E:60, saying his “gut feeling” is that Revis will not play for the Cowboys jerseys this season.

The six-months long impasse over a new contract for the Jets’ All-Pro cornerback continues to grow both more urgent and more discouraging, most recently after a fruitless meeting between the sides at the Roscoe Diner in Roscoe, N.Y.

While Johnson said there has been “no progress” toward a new deal, Revis – who is scheduled to make $1 million this season -- has made it clear he will not report without what he has been promised. It’s a dangerous game of chicken between the team and its best defensive player, as the Jets’ Super Bowl hopes hang in the balance.

After publicly and privately asking for an in-person meeting, general manager Mike Tannenbaum sat down with Revis’ agents for three hours last Friday at the famous stopping point on Route 17. The agents submitted for the first time a written proposal, for a long-term deal.

Johnson said it was “nothing new and different” from what Revis’ camp has been asking for -- leading to his first public expression of doubt that this impasse can be resolved by the Jets’ opener on Sept. 13.

“Based on the meeting we had last Friday -- that Mike had -- that’s the conclusion,” Johnson said. “That’s my feeling right at this moment. It can be a flexible feeling, but as of right now, I have to say no.”

One of Revis’ agents, Jon Feinsod, said they have submitted their proposal, nfl jerseys and the next move belongs to the Jets.

Since the Jets first opened negotiations following the AFC Championship loss, they have submitted multiple proposals, including a short-term and long-term option rejected by Revis’ camp in the days before camp started.
